Alexander Paul was an emblem of success, a driven young man who left a lasting impact on his community. Alexander excelled in poetry, championed discussions around men's mental health, and addressed the Conservative Party on their stop and search policies, all before heading to Warwick to read Politics and International Studies. Sadly, Alexander was diagnosed with a brain tumour that, in 2017, proved fatal. Alexander's mother Joanna established The Alexander Paul Foundation to honour Alexander's life and allow his legacy to continue.

10,000 Black Interns partnered with the foundation to celebrate the outstanding achievement of up to five interns from the cohort of 2021. The Alexander Paul Award exemplifies the value that each intern brought to their host firms, whilst simultaneously recognising the impact each placement had on the interns. In all, 29 interns from the inaugural programme were so outstanding that they were nominated for the award, allowing us to celebrate their successes, honour their experiences and support them on their onward journeys.

The prize works to further support the success of our alumni, with £1000 cash prize, a senior industry sponsor and a 12-month free LinkedIn Premium subscription.
